I have just finished watching this DVD for the second time and I am truly impressed with the amount of information it contains. During the Suarez International Instructor's Summit when it was announced that this video was in production and soon to be released my enthusiasm was moderate. I thought, OK, a video about shooting fundamentals. I was wrong in a very big way.

This video is an absolute necessity for any training library. The information, while focused on the fundamentals of shooting, is so well and clearly presented that the DVD is valuable for essentially any level of shooter.

The chapters are easily accessed thanks to the menu so you can go back to anything you want to review and watch just that portion of the DVD. Gabe obviously gave a lot of thought to the complexity and nuances of what the "fundamentals" entail and he addresses them all.

This reminds me of a present, plainly wrapped and which doesn't overstate its potential for delight until it gets opened and then, WOW!

I wish every DPS student would watch this DVD prior to coming to class, after Day One and then again the week after class. The DVD is that good.

Combative Pistol Marksmanship is an excellent addition to the Infidel Media Group's catalog and I highly recommend it to anyone who shoots.

Detailed Description
Roger began his journey in pistol craft, as many of us did, in the world of the Modern Technique.  But early on, he learned the lessons taught in the crucible of force on force.  Specifically with the issues of movement while shooting.  Roger continued his study of movement, but also looked deeply into the “secret science” of point shooting.

He sought out and trained with just about every living notable proponent of point shooting.  But unlike many others who consider themselves “point shooters” Roger realized, partly from his Modern Technique background with proactive shooting, and partly from his exposure to force on force, that it was not an "all or nothing" situation.  He realized that at times one needed to point shoot while looking directly at the adversary.  Other times, nothing but a perfectly sighted shot would suffice.  He developed a very eclectic system that incorporates both systems, sighted fire and point shooting, to accomplish the mission, which simply put is “shoot without being shot”.

That system was discussed, developed and worked on at our internet forum Warrior Talk.  Eventually it morphed into the series of classes that Roger teaches via Suarez International and it has been set down on paper in a logical progression here. SHOTGUN GUNFIGHTING - DVD

The shotgun, if used correctly inside its performance envelope is, potentially, the best CQB weapon in existence today. This dynamic DVD presents a reality based, aggressive, close quarters combative method of deploying the shotgun. We discuss the various generations of shotgun development, as well as common-sense accessories that the viewer will find useful.

Filmed outside, in the Northern Arizona back country, we had the freedom to do as we pleased with regards to setting up shots and angles to capture every nuance of handling the weapon. There is some wind evident in some parts of the production, but it does not detract from the presentation of the information. All four generations of shotgun development are discussed and shown to include the double barrel, the pump action, the semi auto and the magazine-fed semi auto, as well as what each generation brings to the table. Most demonstrations are conducted with the Remington 870, the Remington 1100, or the Saiga 12.

Most shotgun schools spend a great deal of time discussing modifications and additions to the shotgun, or try to convince the viewer to turn this CQB weapon into some sort of a rifle suitable only for range games, or gun school scores. That is happily not the case in SHOTGUN GUNFIGHTING! In this DVD you will learn what the shotgun is REALLY for, and perhaps as important, learn the weapon's limitations. After a brief overview of the fundamentals, we progress quickly to advanced reality-based drills such as Hostage Rescue Shooting, Ambidextrous Work, and Ammo Transitions. This is the Shotgun version of Close Range Gunfighting.
